The aircraft’s interior lighting operates on DC power. Circuit breakers for the interior lights are located on the right circuit breaker panel under the LIGHTS category. Panel backlighting is provided by LEDs, overhead lighting uses halogen lamps, and all cockpit displays are LCD units.
COCKPIT LIGHTING
- The PANEL dimmer knob adjusts illumination for the following:
- Switch lights
- Oxygen gauge lighting
- Magnetic compass light
- Three standby instruments
- Landing gear position lights
- Audio panels and display bezels
- The DISPLAYS dimmer knob, located on the LIGHTING panel, controls the brightness of the Garmin avionics displays.
- A cockpit floodlight and two map lights are installed overhead near the aircraft’s center.
- The center rheostat controls the floodlight intensity.
- The individual outer rheostats control the two map lights separately.
ENTRY LIGHTING
- The entry/exit lighting is operated by a push-button switch located on the aft side of the left divider cabinet.
- When the entry door is opened, a green backlight illuminates the symbol on the switch. After approximately 10 minutes, both the entry lights (if activated) and the switch backlighting automatically turn off.
- The switch controls the fixed light above the entry door and the fixed light above the toilet.
CABIN LIGHTING
- Two table lights
- Four reading lights
- Two entry lights
- Passenger safety light
PASSENGER SAFETY LIGHT
- The aircraft features a passenger safety lighting system.
- The pilot can turn on the light above the entry door and the right table light above the emergency exit using the PAX SAFETY switch located in the light switch group below the MFD.
- These two lights also illuminate automatically when the aircraft experiences loads exceeding 5 G, such as during an emergency landing.
NO SMOKING/FASTEN SEAT BELTS
- A No Smoking/Fasten Seat Belt sign is located above the left cabin table.
- The No Smoking placard is permanently visible.
- The PAX SAFETY–SEAT BELT switch, located on the LIGHTING panel beneath the MFD, controls the Fasten Seat Belt light.
- The light illuminates when the switch is set to either SEAT BELT or PAX SAFETY.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Landing / Recognition / Taxi Lights
Two 50-watt high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps, mounted in the belly fairing forward of the wing spar, provide illumination for landing, taxi, and recognition. Each light is sealed behind tempered glass and positioned to prevent cockpit glare.
The LANDING–RECOG TAXI switch on the LIGHTING panel controls both lamps:
- LANDING: full-intensity illumination for takeoff and landing.
- RECOG TAXI: reduced-intensity mode for taxiing or recognition lighting.
Beacon
A red LED beacon mounted on top of the vertical stabilizer. It is operated by the BEACON switch on the LIGHTING panel.
Anti-collision Lights
Each wingtip contains a flashing white strobe light for collision avoidance. The lights are controlled by the ANTI COLL switch on the LIGHTING panel.
Navigation Lights
Three navigation light assemblies are installed behind clear tempered glass covers:
- Red (left wingtip, forward)
- Green (right wingtip, forward)
- White (rear, both wingtips)
- These are operated by the NAV switch on the LIGHTING panel.
Wing Inspection Light
- A halogen wing inspection light is installed on the left fuselage side, above and forward of the wing leading edge. It illuminates the outer wing surface to detect ice accumulation during night or icing conditions.
- Controlled by the WING INSP switch on the LIGHTING panel.
